Redefined.Media Bringing Summer2Winter to Life

A publication that is providing a home for meaningful non/fiction multimedia/ video/ audio storytelling is Redefined.Media. Redefined.Media is a full-service boutique media company dedicated to providing creative storytelling and production services in Honolulu, HI. This media company is a team of nine individuals who are motivated by passion and ambition to create meaningful stories through films, commercials, corporate marketing videos, music videos, event recaps and social media content. On a side note, I was friends-of-friends in high school with one of the cinematographers, Huy Nguyen.

The process of Redefined.Media is to achieve each individual client’s goals through pre-production, production, and post-production. In the pre-production stage, the team collaborates with their client to figure out their wants and need. Then the team brainstorms ideas and build’s a proposal within their budget. Once everything is approved, the team moves into the production phase, where they assemble a team within their team with the skill sets required to bring their client’s project to life. Lastly, in the post-production stage they incorporate feedback into the final product to ensure that what they delivered not only meets their client’s expectations but exceeds it.

My favorite work they have done recently is with Kolohe Kai, to promote his new album “Summer2Winter.” For this client, Redefined.Media created a pre-production plan with Kolohe Kai on what he wanted his visual album to entail. From a social media posts, Kolohe Kai wanted the images and videos to capture what he had gone through in his personal life which he speaks about in his music. Once the team figured that out, they assembled a team to help Kolohe Kai’s vision come to life.  Redefined.Media hired Reef Shaw from Reef Shaw Productions who is a 16-year-old up-and-coming freelance cinematographer from Honolulu, HI, and Kubos Creations for the graphics of the Summer2Winter album. Together they worked with Kolohe Kai to bring his vision to the screen.

As of right now, they are in the post-production stage where they are receiving feedback from Kolohe Kai’s audience in the short clips they created. From what I have seen posted on social media, Redefined.Media, Reef Shaw Productions, and Kubos Creations did an amazing job in bringing to life the Summer2Winter album. When you listen to Kolohe Kai’s music, it is definitely captured in the graphics and short clips that were produced. As a fan, I cannot wait to see more full music videos that Redefined.Media and Reef Shaw Productions created for Kolohe Kai.

Netflix Originals are initially thought of as low-budget fillers for the organization. However, they have recently gained higher viewership therefore resulted in the organization to drop over an expected $15 billion this year on original content according to Hernandez from Tech Aeris. Seeking Discomfort

I often think that the  human experience  is oppressed by false and debilitating claims created to scare one out of expanding outside of their comfort zone.  “Don’t talk to strangers”, “That career goal is unrealistic”, “You should not travel.
